Deliiiiciiioooussss

For the joy of her students, every week our teacher makes us explore different tools that could help us to use the Internet for our learning and searches....Though some of us (and this is my case...) seem to be really scared of technologies (but we really don't know why...), we always try to do our best (well, not always indeed...I still feel "that little snap on my face"...) and this week it's been the "social bookmarking" turn!! Where do you start when you search on-line?... This is the fundamental question... Well, I'm used to choosing a keyword on Google and if I'm lucky, I soon get what I'm looking for. But, suppose you're not home and you don't have the chance to work on your personal computer, but you want to save on-line... Before discovering www.delicious.com I used to paste my stuff on a Word doc and send it to my e-mail address! Now, somewhere, somehow... Delicious has been created to make your life easier!! "It is a social bookmarking"; it works like Google, but it's a smaller community. It allows you to tag, save, manage and share web pages all in one place! You can bookmark any site on the Internet and get it from anywhere. You can share your bookmarks and get bookmarks in return, also through your personal network. That's what I did with Federica and Mario. Mario posted sites on manga, music etc... After a coffee and cigarette with Jimi Hendrix, I decided to have a look to one of Federica's choices: "Farvo: the pronunciation guide". During my week lessons, I've noticed I still have little problems with my pronunciation... so having a look to this site could be useful for me... I can train myself with the pronunciation of those English sounds such as "th" which are unknown in my native language.

Language learning targets

Unfortunately last week I was absent and I couldn't reflect upon my "next language learning targets" in class, but I did it by myself...
I think I have no great difficulty in understanding extended speech even when it is not clearly structured, but surely I still have to get familiar with the complexity of some topics sush as for examples those dealing with computers or specialised languages. So I have to extend my personal vocabulary above all with terms belonging to professional sectors and colloquialisms.
I really have to improve my oral skills as well. I think I can deal with most situations, but my aim is to express myself fluently and spontaneously without searching for expressions. I gained most competence in languages inside formal education and the attention has always been put on text writing and homeworks. Now I've got the possibility to interact more with other people thanks to group discussions in class and thanks to blogging, which allow me to make comparisons and monitor my progress. So I'm ready for this new experience even if "it's a long and winding road"!!;-) At the end of the course I would like to say: " Ok Sere, this is what u've done and what you have achieved!!". Now I'm getting familiar with the blogosphere, but as soon as I'm able to know how things work, I'll post everything I find that might help me to achieve my language targets.

My child is born!

This is my first-born and just like all the mothers in the world I'm proud of it!!
I'm still trying to understand what this means to me... "I have to feed it" and "I have to take care of my creature"... It needs my help to grow up and I will do my very best because my desire is to create it in my own image ehehe... Jokes apart, I'm supposed to be serious now; this is my very first post and I would like you to have a look of what my first impressions of this new experience are...
To me blogging means to share something with somebody else. Blogs may include visual elements (texts and pictures), but also videos and audio files and they could be more than just a way to communicate something. They can become a way to reflect on life, works and culture and above all a way to interact with other people. And that's my purpose! As a student I want to improve my reading skills as well as my communication skills, and if I can do this with a little help of all of you, I'd be happy!! Collaboration is everything...so join me guys!!
